Use cases

Everyday problems,
solved with control.

Four real cases with Atalaya, anonymised by sector and size and with real project figures, plus the use cases we work on in each vertical.

Real cases · Atalaya

In all four cases, the infrastructure worked. What failed was what people knew about it.

CASE 01 · ERP consultancy for SMEs · 5 people

26 Odoo instances and only one person who knew how to run them

Starting point. 26 on-premise Odoo instances on Proxmox, each with its own version and customisations, and more than six years of business data. There was a single systems profile in the whole company, and that person was leaving.

With Atalaya. All 26 were migrated to three new servers running Docker, by the company’s own team: two developers with no systems background. The first Odoo took 4 hours; each of the remaining 25, under one.

“I thought this was a six-month project and that I’d have to hire someone. What convinced me was seeing my lads doing it on their own, and being able to keep my finger on the pulse and see the progress. The company is mine again.”
The managing director. ERP consultancy for SMEs, 26 clients.

CASE 02 · IT company of around 40 people · public-sector support

Twice the contracts with the same team

Starting point. 32 municipal infrastructures running 24/7, with a 4-hour SLA and the Spanish National Security Framework (ENS) to comply with, and only three systems engineers. Getting the full status of one town council took 30–40 minutes, and people who no longer worked there still had access, years later. They were already on Arsys: no migration was needed.

With Atalaya. Atalaya was set up on top of the existing infrastructure. The whole team now operates with per-project access, and the bottleneck moved from keeping things running to bidding for — and winning — more tenders.

He describes his company as a train that no longer stops: more tenders, more speed, more load.

“And I’m in the locomotive.”
The CEO. IT company supporting municipal infrastructure, 67 tenders.

Times measured on the status task, across each council’s 6 or 7 servers.

CASE 03 · Software development company · 16 people

220 environments and a summer without calls

Starting point. 72 production infrastructures and more than 220 environments, from Kubernetes and Kafka to dedicated servers. A skilled team doing good work, yet every summer the calls to whoever was on holiday came back and, on their return, nobody fully knew what had been done or why.

With Atalaya. With Atalaya, what is done in each environment is logged and can be checked without calling anyone. There were incidents, some serious, and they were fixed immediately: what stopped were the one-off interruptions.

“It looks like less commitment when you won’t take calls. Actually, there’s more care.”
The CEO. Software company, 16 people and 220 environments.

CASE 04 · Industrial company of 100–150 people · 2 technicians

The backups that didn’t protect anything

Starting point. ERP, CRM, accounting, databases, n8n, several WordPress sites and a VPN, run by two technicians. No system was down and everything seemed to be backed up. The initial audit found backups that didn’t exist, backups that had broken without anyone noticing, unencrypted backups stored on the same server and backups that had never been restored. There was no RTO or RPO: they could have lost months of accounting.

With Atalaya. Secure first, then find out what was missing. By the end of the same day, the critical systems had a correct, completed and verified backup.

“I used to sleep soundly because I didn’t know we had such a serious problem. Now I sleep worse, but I know we are fixing a threat that could have broken the company.”
The CEO. Industrial company with 100 to 150 employees.
